Over the last academic year, our students made great progress. This year, we want to offer more ways to help them achieve their goals quicker and discover themselves as dancers and individuals. A couple of the ways we will be doing this, in addition to our classes, are through our crew training programme and our monthly Instagram challenges.

Crew training programme:

For those who want to take their training further, progress faster, perform more and receive tailored advice on how to improve, we are introducing our new crew training programme!

On 9th September, 10am-12pm, we are holding open auditions for 8-14 year olds to form our brand new junior street dance crew. It’s FREE, all you need to do is email us to secure your spot. The audition will consist of foundation steps, choreography, freestyle and a group task, much like a normal class. Auditionees will be required to perform in small groups, but will not need to dance alone or prepare anything.

We will then contact everyone personally with the outcome within 5 days. Those who are successful will need to commit to training every Saturday during term time, 12:30-2:30pm (Please note there is a fee for this) Our crew training will consist of specific fitness training for dance, foundation training in a variety of street styles, choreography and freestyle and battle training. Each academic year we will work on a competition piece and enter into various competitions and showcases. Individuals will also be encouraged to enter as solos and duos in battles and freestyle categories. At the end of each term, crew members will receive a short 1-1 session to discuss their progress and set goals for the new term, as well as a written report for parents to see their progress.

Monthly Instagram challenges – Prizes to be won!!!

One of our aims this term is to increase how much time our students spend on experimenting with their individual freestyles outside of class time. This will help them understand their body more, increase their confidence, and find new and interesting ways of moving. We have decided to do this through monthly Instagram challenges, which students and non-students can get involved in, helping them interact and inspire each other!

How does it work?

  • Each month we will introduce that month’s freestyle concept on Instagram
  • Student’s, non-students, parents, siblings, friends, etc can get involved by filming themselves freestyling using that month’s set concept
  • Post your freestyle (this can be on a parents account for the child) remember to tag @elevateartsuk and hashtag #Elevate31challenge
  • At the end of each month we will select a winning freestyle and you will win a FREE CLASS or a discount off our Urban Dance Camps
  • You can enter as many times as you like, if you see someone post something and you feel you can do better, use that to inspire you!

Let’s make this academic year even better than the last! Step up and take your training to the next level. Are you ready for the journey?
